Irvine, CA (April 1, 2003) - Wolverine Decision Technology, Inc. today announced that
Philips, Taiwan's Domestic Appliances and Personal Care Division (DAP), a leading
consumer electronic product distributor in Taiwan, has deployed Wolverine's
Collaborative Demand Management solution to improve forecast accuracy, enhance
internal and external collaboration and reduce business risk. This new capability will
allow DAP to serve their customers better, generate more revenue, and reduce cost in a
volatile market where better and faster demand decisions are keys to success.
Due to market demand which is not well understood or analyzed, and insufficient
collaboration within the organization and with trading partners, DAP is facing issues such
as missing sales targets and inventory excesses or shortages. To address these issues and
to remain as the leader in the market, DAP sought to bring in a solution that provided
advanced forecasting capabilities, an open collaboration platform, key performance
tracking, and timely exception identification and resolution.
DAP selected Wolverine's Collaborative Demand Management solution, Wolverine1,
because of its focus on understanding and resolving the above issues, and its ease of use.
DAP envisions a fast ROI with the implementation of Wolverine's solution. The
implementation is comprised of two phases. Phase 1, already complete, addresses
demand generation and promotion planning while Phase 2, to be kicked off in June, deals
with inventory and replenishment planning.
The successful deployment at DAP proves Wolverine's Collaborative Demand
Management vision and technologies. It also demonstrates that Wolverine is executing
well and is ahead of its growth plan. According to Dr. Andrew Yen, CEO of Irvine-based
Wolverine Decision Technology, "We are proud to provide Philips, Taiwan DAP with a
Collaborative Demand Management solution that meets their needs, and to complete the
Phase 1 implementation in such a short time frame! We are committed to delivering
similar results in Phase 2 implementation".
