Wolverine Product Lifecycle Manager
The Wolverine Product Lifecycle Manager application allows companies to collaborate
and synchronize all product management and strategic sales and marketing activities with
advanced decision support capabilities.
It allows users to analyze and plan the long-term demand trend for a product and track
what lifecycle stage the product is currently at, such as introduction, growth, maturity, or
decline. The Wolverine Product Lifecycle Manager also provides what-if analysis
capabilities to evaluate the effectiveness in terms of projected profitability during a
product's entire life cycle, given various pricing and advertising/promotion strategies.
Specific features of the Wolverine Product Lifecycle Manager include:
Lifecycle Plan
-
Lifecycle plans can be used to capture the demand trend over a product's lifecycle,
which typically consists of the following different phases: introduction, growth,
maturity, decline, and phase-out.
-
For a newly introduced or end of lifecycle product, demand forecasting can be
influenced by using so-called phase-in and phased-out lifecycle plans. A phase-in
plan mimics the upward sales curve that one expects during a product's launch and
growth periods, while a phased-out plan mimics the downward sales curve over its
decline and discontinuation periods.
-
A lifecycle plan can be created for a product with little or no history by using the
historical data from existing or phased-out products of "similar" nature, such as older
generations. This profile serves as a basis to derive forecasts in demand planning.
Lifecycle Model Analysis
-
Lifecycle model analysis helps users to establish best-fit lifecycle demand curves
using available historical data.
-
The demand curve profiles established from the analysis can be stored separately, and
used to build lifecycle plans efficiently for new products at later dates.
